Today, we celebrate the incredible graduates of our EMERGE Leadership Training Program! 🎓✨

Over the past 12 weeks, these remarkable women have dedicated themselves to personal growth, leadership development, advocacy training, career readiness, and building a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Through perseverance, courage, and resilience , they have taken meaningful steps toward achieving their goals and strengthening their voices as leaders in our community.

One of our amazing members is getting a new laptop! She’ll be taking our financial wellness EMERGE 2.0 Program and and enrolling in Adelphi University’s Allied health micro credential program! This is my New Hour, where our new class will be begin job training which is key to successful reentry!

Many of you know Tee as a longtime member of the New Hour family. Tee is a graduate of both our EMERGE and EMERGE 2.0 programs and has been a valued part of our community since the very beginning.

As a devoted parent raising children, a successful landscaping business owner, and a published author through Herstory Writers Workshop, Tee has consistently shown strength, determination, and a commitment to building a better future.

Recently, Tee experienced a devastating setback when all of their landscaping equipment was stolen. This loss has put their livelihood at risk and threatens the business they have worked so hard to build.

We are asking our community to come together to help Tee replace the equipment needed to continue working and supporting their family. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference.

Let’s gooooo!

The Protect In-Person Visiting bill was just passed by the NY State Senate and it will now be sent to the Governor for her signature!

We extend our deepest gratitude to the bill sponsors, Senator Luis R. Sepúlveda and Assemblymember David Weprin, for carrying this bill and being champions for those who are incarcerated and their families.

Thank YOU for contacting your legislators, traveling to Albany, attending rallies, and more over the past seven years. NYCIP gives a special shoutout to the Osborne Youth Action Council and all of you who shared your personal experiences to educate legislators, friends, and colleagues about how important in-person visiting is for families affected by incarceration. Together we made a difference!
