Kitsap Pride

Kitsap Pride 🏳️‍🌈Kitsap Pride is a vibrant nonprofit organization passionately committed to celebrating, supporting, and uniting the LGBTQ+ community in Kitsap County.

Kitsap Pride is a non-profit with an all volunteer board. Our mission is to celebrate, support, and unite the LGBTQ+ community in Kitsap County. For 2020 we created an innovative Pride in a Box which we distributed at a Drive Thru Pride event. This allowed us to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride in a safe and meaningful way! We usually produce the annual Kitsap Pride celebration in Evergreen Park. Our family

friendly festival is growing attracting well over 3,000 participants in 2019 along with 50+ local exhibitors including businesses, artisans, non-profits, food trucks, and a beer garden. We have two stages including our headliner, drag performances, and community artists. We even had a drag queen do story time for the kids. We produce events throughout the year including Meetups, our Halloween party, drag queen brunch, art openings, and more. We provide support to other area non-profits and clubs and we do outreach at community events like Juneteenth. Our float won an award in the Seattle Pride parade in 2018 promoting both Kitsap County and our LGBTQ+ community here. Support from our community helps us fulfill our mission. You can donate through Facebook using the link at the top of the page, on our site, or even through Amazon Smile. We are always looking for volunteers. Message us if you want to find out more.

Kitsap Pride is deeply disappointed by the recent Supreme Court ruling that opens the door for so-called “conversion therapy” to continue harming LGBTQIA+ individuals, particularly transgender youth.

Let us be clear: conversion therapy is not therapy. It is a dangerous and discredited practice that has been condemned by every major medical and mental health organization. It causes lasting harm, fuels stigma, and puts lives at risk.

At Kitsap Pride, we believe in affirming care, in dignity, and in the fundamental right of every person to live as their authentic self. Our transgender community deserves support, protection, and celebration—not practices rooted in shame and rejection.

We stand in unwavering solidarity with transgender people here in Kitsap County and across the country. We will continue to advocate, educate, and create spaces where every person is safe, seen, and valued.

Now more than ever, visibility must be matched with action.

Today, we honor Transgender Day of Visibility—a day to celebrate the strength, joy, and resilience of transgender and nonbinary people in our community and beyond.

Visibility matters. It saves lives. It creates understanding. And it reminds every trans person that they are seen, valued, and loved—exactly as they are.

At Kitsap Pride, we are committed to creating spaces where authenticity is celebrated and everyone can show up as their full self. Today and every day, we stand with our trans community in pride, in solidarity, and in action.
