🎗️ The Deadline for CureFest Shoe Memorial Display is Sep. 9! 🎗️
The CureFest Shoe Memorial Display serves as a powerful tribute to children who have lost their lives to cancer. We will also feature a Tribute Wall for Angels and Survivors/Fighters, which we'll share more details about in the coming days.
On Sep. 20, volunteers from Voice of Angels will place 1,800 pairs of shoes on the National Mall. Each pair represents one of the 1,800 precious children we lose to cancer each year in the United States.
For families who have lost a child to cancer, we invite you to honor their memory by contributing a pair of shoes to the display. To participate, please send shoes to:

Please include a note with your shipment containing:
Your name and email address
Your child's name and hometown
Shoe description (brand, color, and size)
This information helps our volunteers properly catalog each pair upon arrival. You'll receive email confirmation within one week of receipt.
Important Guidelines
While you may send your child's actual shoes, shipping carries inherent risks. We recommend sending a new or similar pair that matches your child's favorite shoes in color, size, and style.
Though we handle every pair with extraordinary care, we cannot guarantee against potential mishaps. Please consider this if choosing to send original shoes.
Shoes from bereaved families receive special handling and are kept separate from public donations. Because each pair represents a specific child, they are treated with extra care and attention. Shoes received from parents between 2021 - 2025 will be prominently displayed in this year's memorial.
After the Event
We cannot return shoes by mail. If you'd like to retrieve them after the display, you may collect them in person at CureFest or have someone pick them up on your behalf on Sep. 20 between 1 - 2 PM.
We keep all shoes submitted by bereaved families that are not picked up after the event. These will be included in future Shoe Memorials.
