🚲 A Ride Toward Opportunity

When this neighbor came to ECHO, they were already working hard to build a better future. They met with their Job Coach to explore new employment opportunities, update their resume, and find ways to move forward in their career.

But one challenge stood in their way: transportation.

This neighbor was walking nearly two miles to work each day—yet they continued showing up, working hard, and pushing forward.

Through our partnership with Bikes for Christ, this neighbor received a bicycle to help them get to and from work. 💚

Their reaction said it all. They were incredibly grateful and excited to know they no longer had to make that two-mile walk each day.

To some, it may be “just a bike.” But for this neighbor, it means reliable transportation, greater independence, and one less barrier standing between them and opportunity.

This is what happens when our community comes together to help a neighbor move forward. Sometimes, removing one barrier can make a tremendous difference.

Apparently, the staff and volunteers at ECHO Brandon had the same idea—black ECHO shirts all around! And somehow, nobody planned it! 😂

According to Christian, our Brandon Center Manager:
