Montana Skatepark Association , Jeff Ament, keeping it real.

“I’m all about skate parks…. It’s an amazing time to be a skateboarder. There are so many skateparks that you can’t give it up at this point.”

Who was the first pro skateboarder?

“From a girl’s standpoint, it’s all about the girls. We can’t be catty. We have to be there for each other. It was so competitive when I was 19 or 20. You didn’t give away your tricks. Now you teach them.”
- Patti McGee - Juice Magazine 75
This image of Patti was taken on one of her many surprising visits to Juice HQ. She would tell us the most amazing stories and her positivity was inspiring and contagious. I was lucky enough to capture a candid moment of sweet Patti just enjoying a moment in the sun and we are happy to continue to celebrate her for all time.
For those that don’t know, Patti McGee was the first female professional skateboarder and set the world record for the fastest girl on a skateboard at 47mph during Dick Clark’s World Teen Fair 1964. She was paid by Hobie/Vita Pak to travel and demonstrate the Hobie skateboard and, during the tour, Patti appeared on the TV show What’s My Line? and on The Johnny Carson Show. Patti McGee was featured on the cover of Life magazine in 1965 and in Juice Magazine in 2017 and is considered one of the Most Influential Skateboarders of All Time.

There are still some minor changes to be made, but we are so far down the road from where this began. Having the crew at Grindline Skateparks , with all the personal history there has been fabulous. Thank you for your support along the way. The information and insight Parents for Skateparks has brought to the table has empowered the community to move with confidence.. It's been an honor to work on this together as a skate, inline and bike community. We still have work to do, but this victory for the greater skate/bike Bothell Skatepark Community is huge!
