Now that I have had a few days and a very nice enjoyable weekend off…..I would like to take a moment and thank everyone at Bothell Eagles 2609 that came in daily to support the Aerie and volunteered their time to try and make a difference. I love each and every one of you. It was very unfortunate that the majority of our members did not understand what a “Fraternal Order” was really about, nor did they seem to realize that we were a business that needed income to stay alive.
My Dad signed me up with The Bothell Eagles Auxiliary/ Aerie 2609 in 1988 when we were located in Kenmore WA. I was the volunteer taco lady for 5 years in Kenmore. I went on payroll with the Aerie in 1994 and have enjoyed every year I have been involved. I met my husband their and many years later we started seeing each other and eventually, shall we say tied the knot. I have made great friends many of them will be lifelong! As our Grand Aerie Agent told us, (Shannon & I) the jobs we performed for Aerie 2609 were above and beyond what was expected of us, on and off the clock. He did add that if we were not doing our jobs to perfection, he would have gotten rid of us long ago! He said there is an Aerie out there that deserves to have our membership. He added that it was completely the membership that did not support the Aerie and that was what caused the failure. So with that said, good bye to all who tried to make a difference at Aerie 2609 and shame on those of you who ultimately closed your Aerie 2609’s doors for good.
