Welcome to our newest volunteer, Amberdawn!! Her first day was yesterday and she did great with all the dogs. She can already get into most of the buildings. We spent a lot of time dog walking yesterday. Schnapps got hot and had to cool off in the muddiest part of the streambed.

Scooter gets his second chance.

Today this little guy was transferred to Anita's Stevens Swan Humane Society to get an opportunity at a forever family.

Moments like these are just such a bonus. These dogs were fated to remain at the sanctuary for their lives so to give some of them another chance...

There is no better feeling ❤️🥰

Sometimes there are no words....

Summit didn't deserve this life...
Summit was more than this, more than all of us.

He was one of the dogs who lived with Linda for the last two years. He was loyal and the biggest baby you ever met.

One wound is all it took.

Summit suffered like so many of the dogs here to a form of resistant bacteria. Within two days a small wound despite being cleaned regularly and being on antibiotics turned into a nightmare. We couldn't put him through what could have been almost a year of daily sedation to cut and clean the wound with no guarantees it would even work. The pain he would endure was to much for us to bear. We let Summit rest in peace.

Special thank you to North Country Pet Adoption Services for reaching out to us and offering their old paneling to help upgrade our dog kennels! This means a lot because we know times are difficult in the rescue community. A true testament of the phrase "Rescues helping rescues". Be sure to take a look at their adoptable dogs!

Also a shout out to Loren for transporting them to us! This is what community looks like.

Note our foreman making sure a job is well done (He is not our dog, he belongs to the neighbors and is very loved).

I will say, these dogs are resourceful.

Yes there are a few pools in their run,
Yes they have three shaded areas,
Yes they can go inside as well...

But Brenner has figured out the coolest spot, maybe not the most "esthetically comfortable" but still comfortable in a different sense I guess 🤷🥶...

Cool is the new comfort 🥵

Although the sanctuary is for dogs only we do find ourselves in a position once and a while to help the occasional feline friends.

Networking is a vital part of most rescue organizations and we are lucky to have such an amazing group of people who continuously give it their everything.

Last week we got a call about a little tiny guy found in someone's yard with his sibling who had already passed. Luckily we found him a safe place and the wonderful Murphy stepped up and is taking great care of him.

Tonight this little guy was found on the side of the road in Boonville. Sick and afraid, but because we don't stop at "we don't take cats" he now has a safe place to stay!
