On November 10, 2026, the library will be joining Evergreen Indiana, which is a growing network of public libraries throughout Indiana that use the Evergreen software. With this change, you will be able to view the catalogs of all the member libraries and borrow materials from them using your library card.
We are very excited for this change and the fact that it will give you access to a much larger collection of over 7 million items. We have been working on this behind the scenes for several months, and as we get closer, you might start to notice a few things that will affect library services as we merge the records of all of our books and other materials into the larger online catalog system.
Before the switch on Nov. 10, we will have to temporarily suspend things like interlibrary loans, issuing new cards, or updating information for a few weeks so the changes don’t get lost in the data move. Most will not need to be halted until the end of October, so you will have a few weeks to get requests in. And while we will be live on November 10 with the new online catalog and you can begin placing holds in Everygreen Indiana at that time, it will take a bit of time to get up and running completely with overdue notices, hold notices, and more.
We ask for your patience as we work on moving all of this data to better serve you. This change will not only allow us to provide you with access to tons more materials, but it is also a significant cost savings to our library, which will open up our budget to be spent on other library services. The end result will be wonderful, but you might notice a few things delayed temporarily within the next few weeks.
