Adults know trauma is temporary. They've tasted "normal" life before—good jobs, stable homes, peaceful days. They can hold onto hope: "This is hard, but life can be different."

Kids? Without loving support, trauma becomes their only reality. No memories of safety. No vision of "normal." War, loss, displacement – it all feels permanent. For them, it's not just pain; it's their entire world. Untreated, it leads to lifelong struggles like depression and despair.

Think of our youngest Radobot groups (ages 6-10). Full-scale war has raged for 4+ years. For internally displaced kids near frontlines, family life has been shattered for 12+ years.

Do they remember peace? Have loving adults shown them fairness? Can they even imagine life without fear?

📆This weekend, while many of you were getting ready for Sunday worship in safety, children in Kyiv are falling asleep on hallway floors, listening to drones and missiles and praying they will wake up in the morning.

Recent months have brought some of the heaviest attacks🚀 since the full‑scale invasion began, and civilian casualties in 2026 are already higher than at this time last year.

In Ukraine, poverty has risen by about 70% since 2021, and around 4 in 10 children now live in poverty💔. UNICEF estimates that about half of all children affected by the war are at risk of mental distress 🪫— anxiety, nightmares, depression, and deep fear about the future — with displaced children, those near the front line, and those with disabilities especially vulnerable.

This is why you keep hearing such large numbers📈 of “children affected by the war”: in reality, almost no child here is untouched.

Our free Radooga club 💙 exists right in the middle of this crisis.

Because parents cannot afford paid programs, a safe, loving, Christ‑centered place where children can play, talk, and begin to heal is not a luxury – it is a lifeline.

Your prayers 🙏 and gifts 🎁 make it possible for these children to be seen, listened to, and reminded that God has not forgotten them.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want to remind our community that constantly witnessing war, loss, and devastation online can take a real toll.

Many people in the Ukrainian and advocacy communities carry this weight every day through nonstop news updates, graphic images, activism, fundraising, and concern for loved ones back home.

Taking care of your mental health does not mean you care less. Rest is not stepping away from Ukraine. It is what helps you continue showing up, advocating, supporting, and staying engaged long term.

Take breaks. Set boundaries. Go outside. Talk to people you trust. Protect your peace when you need to.

You matter too. 💙💛

Ukraine’s villages reveal heartbreaking contrasts – just miles from bustling Zaporizhzhia, families face poverty and neglect that feel worlds away from city life.

Our missionary team, led by Svitlana, brings Radooga lessons to Zaporizhzhia’s public school kids from first graders to teens. But their weekly trips to nearby villages uncover even deeper needs.

Adults there often lack purpose, jobs, or hope – alcohol is their only escape. Kids flee home for school, craving its structure as their sole taste of childhood joy.

Radooga visits spark pure excitement: a safe, loving space where responsible adults care for them, not the other way around.

On one trip, Svitlana met 7-year-old Ania and her sister. Their mother, completely blind and unable to work, neglects them. No one taught the girls basic self-care (like brushing their hair). Instead, these young pupils have to care for their mum.

Hearing their daily struggles – it’s hard to believe this is Ukraine, not some distant crisis zone. Yet countless villages endure this cycle, generation after generation.

We pray Radooga shows Ania and others a better way: hope, dignity, and God’s love. A path to break free, choose wisely, and build brighter futures.

Sometimes, God begins changing a family through one child.

For more than 30 years, Radooga Clubs have been a place where children learn the Bible, build friendships, and discover new skills through robotics and STEM activities.

But over the years, we realized something beautiful: ministry to children extends beyond the child.

When a child experiences love, trust, and God’s truth, it naturally reaches parents, grandparents, brothers, and sisters too. One open heart can influence an entire home.

That is why we create family celebrations, competitions, and special events — because every connection is an opportunity to bring people closer to each other and closer to God.

On this International Day of Families, we are thankful for everyone who helps us invest not only in children but in stronger families and lasting faith for the next generation.

When Bohdan first came to our club, he could hardly sit still.

A fifth-grade boy displaced from Melitopol because of the war, Bohdan, is full of energy, questions, and emotions. He loves movement: judo, scouting, competitions (anything active).

But like many children affected by war and displacement, he was intuitively looking for calm and security.

During robotics classes, something began to change. Bohdan discovered a new world with Radooga.

Recently, he shared something that deeply touched our hearts:
“I started understanding things I didn’t understand before – that I can turn to God when I’m afraid. That even if I make mistakes, I can still come to God. I started praying more.”

For children like Bohdan, the Radooga ministry is a place where fear slowly gives way to peace, children discover they are not alone, and they encounter the love of God in the middle of uncertainty.

Dear friends, this year at Radooga, we’re launching a 2-year Bible journey for Ukrainian kids.

The first year focuses on the Old Testament, while the second helps children discover the life of Jesus, the New Testament, and practical spiritual lessons for everyday life.

One of the most important parts of every lesson is helping children understand that the Bible is not distant or abstract — it speaks directly to their hearts and lives:

“What do you want to hold right now?”
“Who matters most in your life?”

Thus, war-weary hearts open, seeing God speaks to THEIR fears, dreams, and questions.

“Train up a child... he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

One important way to support someone after trauma, even if you are not a psychologist ⬇️.

Many professional tools, activities, and trauma-informed counselors can help children and adults heal. But sometimes, the first thing we can do is simply be present.

If a child or adult is ready to share, let them speak at their own pace. Listen without judgment. Keep their story safe. Show kindness, patience, and love.

A safe conversation can be a first step toward healing and toward the right kind of support.

We do not have to fix everything. Sometimes love looks like listening, praying, and making space for healing.
