From being trapped inside a storm drain for three days and then rescued by Animal Control Officer Crowder, from picking this little nugget up from the Danville Area Humane Society Virginia, to her first weigh in at just 1.0 pound, to spending her last morning here before heading to her forever home where she will be spoiled, cherished, and loved beyond measure.

It’s never easy saying goodbye, but knowing how adored Virginia will be makes it the happily ever after we dream about for every animal who comes through our rescue.

What a journey this little girl has had, and what a wonderful future awaits her!

If you were following us back in February, you probably remember Punxsutawney Phyllis from the Danville Area Humane Society Virginia and Beech from our NC Ski Resort kittens rescued from the Pittsylvania Pet Center shelter.

Now known as Lunabelle and Bruce, these two met in foster care and quickly became the best of friends. We were thrilled when their family decided they belonged together forever. They were absolutely right.

Their mom recently shared:
“So big now but they still love snuggling. We are obsessed with both of them and are so glad they joined our family! This is my current view 🥰 since I work from home, one of them is almost always in my lap.”

Not only did these two find a wonderful home, but they found it together. Thank you to their amazing family for loving them so much and for continuing to share updates with us. Seeing our alumni thrive is one of the greatest gifts rescue gives back.

Let’s get this Popsicle Party started!
The first two of Mama Poppy’s kittens have officially headed home, and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Fudgsicle and Ice Pop were adopted together today by a wonderful family that already knows the joy of a VRR kitty. In fact, these lucky girls are joining a family with two VRR alumni spanning two generations! Mom and Dad have a VRR alum, and their daughter has one too! Needless to say, we know these kittens are headed for a lifetime of love, spoiling, and happily ever after.

And if the adorable adoption day photo wasn’t enough to warm our hearts, we received this update just hours later:

“They are settling in well! Fudge is now Juniper (or Junie) and Ice Pop is now Mia. I do think their nicknames will always be Fudge and Smuge! Thank you for picking us for their furever family!”

Now that’s exactly the kind of update we love to receive. Congratulations, sweet girls! We are SO happy for you!

Mama Poppy’s little girl Bomb Pop is still waiting for someone to fall in love with her. Until then, she'll be happily curled up on my lap, soaking up cuddles and love when she's not busy playing with her brothers, sisters, and Mama before they all head off to their forever homes.

This sweet girl is ready for a family of her very own. And who knows? If she and her orange tabby brother Jonny Pop aren't chosen by next week, they just may be traveling in the motorhome with us to our next vintage car race. We know our foster kitties always love that adventure! 🏁

If you're interested in adopting either of these adorable kittens—or, for double the fun, adopting both—please complete our non-binding application on our website, VintageRacersForRescues.com.

Our kitten adoption fee of $100 includes first year kitten vaccines and their 3 boosters, neuter when age/weight appropriate, rabies vaccine, multiple parasite screenings and dewormings, and of course, a microchip too!

We have 11 vet partners for you to choose from for the vet care included in our adoption fee that has not been completed at time of adoption due to the age of the kitties. They are located in Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, Mebane, Hillsborough. Roxboro, and 3 locations in Danville!

IMPORTANT: YOU MAY NEED TO USE THE TAB BUTTON TO GET TO THE SUBMIT BUTTON ON THE APPLICATION.

Once approved to adopt, we can set up a meet and greet in our foster home in Blanch, NC. We are 20 minutes from Danville, VA, 5 minutes from Yanceyville, NC and an easy 1 hour drive from Durham, Greensboro or Chapel Hill.

Wi******er and Virginia have been such a joy to foster since we picked them up from the Danville Area Humane Society Virginia.

Tomorrow, Virginia has a meet-and-greet and, if there’s a love connection, she will be heading to her forever home!

This lucky girl would have a young kitty sibling to play with and a fabulous mommy to spoil her, so we are really hoping it’s a purrfect match for everyone.

I keep getting ready to brush her beautiful fluffy coat, but then she dives right back into another wrestling match, so it looks like the grooming session is going to have to wait.

This beautiful girl is definitely going to add a lot of fun to her furever home.

We are going through applications for Scottish Fold boy Wi******er at this time. As we expected, we got quite a few, so thank you for your patience to everyone who applied.

Good morning from adoptable Bruno!

This handsome boy is looking so good and having so much fun in his foster home. Bruno is 5 years old and is now back to a healthy weight of around 40 pounds.

We don’t know Bruno’s breed for certain, but we’re guessing there is definitely some hound mixed in there somewhere! We recently sent out his DNA test to Wisdom Panel, so soon we’ll know exactly what percentages make up this wonderful pup. Until then, we know he’s 100% adorable, 100% lovable, and 100% deserving of a forever home.

If you’re looking for a playful, sweet, handsome, well-behaved medium-sized dog, Bruno just might be the one. He is house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and truly aims to please. He absolutely loves other dogs too and would enjoy having a canine friend to romp around with.

Most of all, Bruno is ready for a family of his very own, one that will love him as much as he will love them right back.

To learn more about Bruno or to complete our non-binding adoption application, please visit our website: VintageRacersForRescues.com.

We can’t wait to see this wonderful boy get the happily ever after he deserves.
