Eastern N Lines

Eastern N Lines The Eastern N Lines (ENL) Partnership™ is a voluntary group of NTRAK Clubs located in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The ENL Partnership was formalized at the first Danville Old 97 Rail Days in September 2003 held to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Wreck of the Old 97. The Partnership came about originally to spread the effort involved with putting on a train show in a location that is not home base for any of the clubs, and at large conventions (e.g. uNcoNveNtioN™) where significant additional effort is

required. However, ENL is much more than a regional partnership. ENL represents a group of NTRAKers dedicated to the Digital Command Control of trains, and "open operations" that ENL has developed over the years since 2003. ENL is not a "closed" partnership, but we are a "specialized" partnership within NTRAK. Clubs considering joining ENL should understand this and be dedicated to the same specialization. Part of becoming a member of ENL is the willingness to do some of the work required to successfully put on train shows, particularly the Partnership’s signature event at Danville. Organizationally the ENL Partnership is just that, a partnership or loose federation of NTRAK clubs. There is no formal entity or organizational structure, bylaws or politics. The group dynamic follows its most active and interested members by default. Leadership is just the leadership of joint participation.

ENL Partners & Family, I regret I don’t have a better front facing picture of Mickey Lugar from September’s Danville Rail Days (just this busy blue shirt shot), but fellow N Scaler Chris Wiley informed me that Mickey survived brain surgery this week to remove a tumor that concerned his daughter about his personality and well being. She reported the surgery went well and he returned home. As the ENL Partnership, let’s keep Mickey in our thoughts & prayers and give him encouragement when we get the chance.

Breaking News: our historic DRDXXIII is now fully documented.

Jean-Marc “JM” Gadoury happily announced that he completed production of the Danville Rail Days videologue.

The ENL Members thoroughly paid tribute to our departed members, Bill Kidd and John Wallis. They also expresed appreciation to their hosts at Danville Science Center

In honor to our friend and musical model railroader Cheston (Chet) Moore, who departed this earth on Tuesday, we rewind our 2017 Danville Rail Days commemorative video.
