Washington Gorge Action Programs A Community Action Agency. Helping People, Changing Lives. Serving both counties since 1966, Washington Gorge Action Programs is that agency.

In 1964, President Lyndon Baines Johnson signed into law the Economic Opportunity Act, creating Community Action Agencies across the United States to fight a "War on Poverty". The following year, a group of residents from Skamania and Klickitat Counties formed a committee for the purpose of developing a 'Community Action Agency'. WAGAP is a multipurpose human service organization dedicated to help

ing individuals, families, and communities address basic human needs. WAGAP helps people of all ages and from all walks of life. Most of the programs we operate are for low income or moderate income households as measured by federal income guidelines. Some of our clients need assistance one time to get over a rough spot, others may need ongoing help to reach their goals of self-sufficiency and independence.

The DOL2Go mobile unit will be at the Stevenson Community Library, 120 NW Vancouver Avenue. Friday, September 18, from 10am to 4pm. Services include first-time Washington driver’s licenses and ID cards, enhanced licenses and IDs, out-of-state license transfers, renewals, driver records, reinstatement letters, and document reviews for proof of identity. Let's keep the celebration going! We are happy to announce the opening of the new Latino Exhibit at the on September 10th, 5:30-7PM. This partnership between the Museum and WAGAP has been a year in the making and we are honored to be a part of this new permanent cultural exhibit. Stop by for some refreshments, piñata, and youth Mexican folk dance group. Thank you to the .adamschamber for helping put this on!
