Two police departments. The same day. FOAA requests. Very different encounters.

This video documents what happened between August 25 and September 12, 2025, beginning with FOAA requests made at the Sanford and Berwick Police Departments and continuing through a later encounter at Berwick PD.

On September 12, I returned to Berwick PD with another written request. What happened became the subject of a complaint—including my allegation that my paperwork was thrown onto the floor.

Berwick Police Chief Timothy Towne later wrote that he investigated the allegations and found my complaints “unfounded.”

But there was video.

Obtaining playable footage from the Town took more than a year after I initially received a copy I could not properly play. Once I was finally able to review the footage, another issue emerged: a portion of the encounter captured by my contemporaneous recording was not present in the Town-provided video.

So rather than tell you what conclusion to reach, I’m showing you the evidence.

Watch the encounters.
Compare the departments.
Watch the timestamps.
Listen to what is said.
Look at what happens to the paperwork.
Then decide for yourself whether what you see is consistent with the official finding of “unfounded.”

This is bigger than one interaction. Public records, transparency, accountability, and the way members of the public are treated when they ask questions matter.

The song raises questions about Chief Timothy Towne’s simultaneous role as Berwick Police Chief and candidate for the Maine House—and about transparency, accountability, public resources, and the boundaries between those roles.
