Troop 441 welcomed European Master Chef, Mr. Christian J. Fischer, to our meeting this week to teach the boys about cooking! Mr. Fischer, a native of Austria, entertained the boys with tales of his homeland and instructed the boys on preparation of guacamole, Kaiserschmarrn (King’s pancake), and ice cream in a ziploc bag.

Surely a night the boys won’t soon forget! A huge thank you Mr. Fischer for a very entertaining and educational evening!

A huge thank you to Mr. Fischer, and to East Berlin Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. for hosting us!

A special thank you to the Berlin CT Lions Club for their ongoing support of Troop 441, we greatly appreciate it!

This past weekend, Scouts prepared a full thanksgiving dinner in the woods at Sage Park! We had our famous “turkeys in a trash can”, all the fixins, and delicious dutch oven cobblers cooked on site! To cap off the day, we held a court of honor to recognize the completion of over 100 combined merit badges, 10 rank advancements, and 18 Totin Chips. The court of honor also included special recognition of our newest Eagle Scout, Michael Avino!

Please join us in congratulating our newest Eagle!

Though we aren’t selling our steamed cheeseburgers anymore, Troop 441 still maintains a presence at the Berlin Fair fairgrounds, albeit behind the scenes! Yesterday, over 30 Scouts and leaders turned out to clean up the parking lots, camping areas, and fairgrounds. Thank you to East Berlin Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. and to our charter organization, Berlin CT Lions Club, for giving us the opportunity to contribute service time to the fair!
