Congratulations to one of our Army Veteran and one of our biggest supporters formerly of Baywater Landing Marina on his new appointment Worcester County Government, Maryland! Congratulations Lee! 🇺🇸

Commissioners Name Lee Beauchamp as New Water and Wastewater Superintendent

The commissioners named Lee Beauchamp, P.E. as the new superintendent within the Water and Wastewater Division of Public Works. He joined Public Works on November 24, 2025.

Beauchamp has more than two decades of leadership experience in public works, environmental services, engineering, and operations management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and an MBA in Business Administration from Wilmington University. He is a licensed professional engineer in Maryland and a former State of New York public water system operator.

“Lee brings a tremendous skill set and knowledge base with him to Worcester,” Public Works Director Dallas Baker said. “He is hard working, smart, and has great attention to detail. I know he’s already looking at ways to make things run more efficiently and save money.”

Prior to joining Worcester County, Beauchamp served as director of Public Works for Wicomico County, where he managed roads and solid waste operations with an annual budget exceeding $12 million and led over 120 employees. Earlier, as deputy director of Environmental Services for the Town of Cortlandt, New York, he served as the responsible operator in charge for municipal water and sewer systems encompassing more than 160 miles of water mains, multiple sewer districts, and pump stations. His career also includes senior operations leadership in the construction and infrastructure sector.

Beauchamp also serves as a first sergeant (E-8) in the Delaware Army National Guard, with over 26 years of service and deployments in support of overseas and domestic operations. His military experience reinforces his approach to disciplined leadership, risk management, and team development.

“I remain committed to maintaining safe, resilient, and cost-effective utility services while preparing the County’s infrastructure and workforce to meet future growth, regulatory, and climate-driven challenges,” Beauchamp said.

In his role as superintendent, Beauchamp provides executive oversight of Worcester County’s public drinking water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection systems. He is responsible for regulatory compliance, capital planning, operational efficiency, workforce development, and long-term infrastructure sustainability to ensure reliable service for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Today, we pause to honor Gold Star Mothers and Families. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom comes at a cost carried by entire families, not just those who serve.

💛 To every Gold Star family: we see you, we remember your loved ones, and we stand with you today and ever day.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Kraus, son of MISSION BBQ co-founder Bill Kraus, who was killed along with three of his fellow soldiers in a helicopter crash during training.

Mission BBQ began right here in Maryland, built on values of service, patriotism, and giving back. Bill and his family have done so much to honor our veterans, first responders, and military heroes.

We keep the Kraus family and the families of all four soldiers in our prayers. Their courage, sacrifice, and service to our nation will never be forgotten.

If you’re carrying thoughts of ending your life, know this: asking for help is not a weakness — it’s an act of courage that protects the team you care about and the mission you still have ahead. Military life asks a lot of you, and it’s normal to feel overwhelmed, ashamed, or alone — but those feelings do not define your worth or your future. Talk with a trusted leader, battle buddy, chaplain, or medical professional; if that feels too hard, reach out confidentially to available crisis resources — you deserve care and someone who will listen. You’ve shown resilience before; relying on others now is another form of that resilience. If you’re in immediate danger, please get to a safe place and contact emergency services or a crisis line right away — you are not alone, and help is ready when you are. Dial 988 then press 1 🇺🇸🙏
