The mission of the Latino Business Student Association (LBSA) is to empower the Latinx community at UC Berkeley to excel academically and professionally in Corporate America. The Latinx Business Student Association, LBSA, was founded in 1998 with the vision “to be recognized as the premier diverse business organization at UC Berkeley that successfully transitions its members into corporate Ameri
caand the Walter A. Haas School of Business.” Today, LBSA is the largest minority business organization, with over 180 members, 10 corporate sponsors, over 40 events and an extensive alumni network. LBSA is proud to offer career opportunities, professional development, academic resources, community outreach and a supportive atmosphere for members to feel welcome and achieve their goals. During the 2008-2009 academic year, LBSA was recognized as Outstanding Organization of the Year by the Office of Student Life at UC Berkeley. We believe that this accomplishment follows the great strides that LBSA has made since its establishment. Professional events that we are especially proud of are our Business Social, Internship Forum, Alumni Industry Panel, Bear Necessities and Networking Mixer. LBSA has made strong connections with the community with our Annual “Catch a Dream” Talent Show with elementary school children and our relationship with Boys and Girls Club of El Sobrante. We also strive to maintain a supportive network with social activities such as our Member Retreat, Broomballing or with our Mentor-Mentee ‘Big C’ Hike. This year and for many years to come, LBSA will continue to grow with
quality events, engaged members, new sponsors and a passion toward our vision.
