Cub Scouts Pack 139 Bergenfield

Not really sure how to summarize this weekend, but I'll try...Pack 139 and Troop 139, yes all 90 of us!, enjoyed a beautiful three day family beach camping at Seaside Heights Camporee. Despite of a thunderstorm threat, we didn't get one drop of rain! The World Cup spirit was felt all around, the Knicks won Championship (yes we watched!), we got to see two sunsets & two sunrises, dolphines came to greet us, the local fishing club engaged scouts in surfishing, many of us enjoyed the Waterpark, and the evenings were filled with laughter and thrill at the Amusemt Park. Now imagine this with cool sand under your feet, ocean breeze in your hair, sunshine on your shoulders, a tiny hand holding your hand, and a happy voice telling you this is their best day ever 🥹.
Cub scouting is a family program and trips like this bring everyone together. 🌊 Another amazing beach camping fun in the books. ⛱️

🧢 Fun at the Rockland Boulders! ⚾️ With the sleepover being postponed it only means we'll get to this FUN twice! Beautiful fireworks and Cubs really enjoyed "feeling the rain on their skin" 🌧🌈

🎣 It's FISHING TIME!!! 🎣 Cub Scouts from Pack 139 had lots of fun fishing at Cooper's Pond today (despite this "funny" weather). We caught some sunfish, golden shiners, common carp, 2 channel catfish, brown bullhead, and 3 snapping turtles 😅 Every Scout went home with a prize thanks to Bass Pro Shops, Tackle World, and Ramsey Outdoors for sponsoring this event. Also special shout out to Mr Tom from Stony Brook for donating couple of rods for the Pack 🫡 Cubs were also surprised by Councilwoman, Ora Kornbluth, who stopped by to check on us and wish us good luck 😁 and last but not least, special thanks to Mayor Amatorio for always supporting our Pack and giving us permission to use Cooper's Pond for this fun family event.
Cubs, as you can see, a lot of people in the community care about you. You are the future leaders so be proud of your service! ⚜️ 🫡
I'm also very proud that few of my Cubs picked up a lot of trash lying around and in the water without even being asked to do so. Great job, Scouts!

🇺🇸 Today Pack 139 Cub Scouts took part in the Veterans Ceremony and the unveiling of a new monument to honor our Heroes at the Borough Hall of Bergenfield. The Cubs also marched in the Memorial Day Parade to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country 🫡🇺🇸
