On Monday, Jan. 26 at 9:40 PM, Bergenfield Fire Department responded to a working house fire in the 100 block of W. Main St. Chief Zadrozna established command with smoke showing from the second floor of a two-story home. Bergenfield Fire Company 2 crew responded in Engine 3 second due quickly going to work. Engine 3’s crew got sent to the basement to secure utilities then immediately got to work, heading to the fire floor to conduct primary searches and then jumped on the hose line to help with the advancement into the fire room. operations were complicated by snow and sub freezing temperatures creating icy conditions. The fire was brought under control in an hour with units operating on scene for over three hours. One resident was transported to a local hospital by Bergenfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps for smoke inhalation Bergenfield PD handle traffic and DPW salted the areas roadways. Chief Zadrozna thanks all members and mutual aid partners for their teamwork. The fire remains under investigation,
