A Reminder for Benton Harbor Homeowners

Unexpected damage can happen at any time. Homeowners insurance may help cover damage caused by storms, fires, fallen trees, theft and other emergencies, depending on your policy.

Please remember that the City of Benton Harbor is not responsible for removing large tree limbs that have fallen on private property; including your tree, lawn, and your side of the alley. Homeowners are responsible for arranging removal.

Take a few minutes to review your insurance policy, document your belongings and make sure you understand what is covered. If a tree or large limb damages your home, contact your insurance provider before beginning cleanup. Protect your home and be prepared before an emergency happens.
