Sometimes love arrives in the form of a suitcase💼❤️

We are incredibly grateful to five compassionate mothers from the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist Church in Georgia who lovingly filled an entire suitcase with baby clothes, diapers, blankets, rattles, and essential newborn supplies for the Canvasback Wellness Center’s New Kids program!

This past mission trip, this precious cargo was hand-carried across the ocean by Celena Alvarez Aguirre, RN, a member of our visiting ENT medical volunteer team. When the suitcase was opened, Canvasback Missions co-founder Jacque Spence and members of the wellness center staff gathered around with smiles as each thoughtfully chosen item was unpacked.

These gifts will go directly into the hands of new and expectant mothers in the community, bringing comfort, encouragement, and practical support during an important season of life.

To the mothers from the Calhoun church: thank you for your generosity, kindness, and servant hearts. Your love is reaching families across the Pacific and helping give the littlest ones in the community a healthier start!

And thank you as well to our dedicated volunteer teams who continue to carry hope, healing, and compassion wherever they serve. ❣️

🌺✨After two incredible, jam-packed weeks, our ENT team has officially completed their mission at Majuro Hospital.

To celebrate the end of their time together, the team was honored with a beautiful Yokwe party: a heartfelt Marshallese tradition centered around community, gratitude, love, and connection. “Yokwe” means both hello and love in Marshallese, and this celebration perfectly reflected the warmth and kindness that our volunteers experienced throughout their stay 💙

During the celebration, the team was gifted handwoven Marshallese jewelry, flower crowns, and traditional leis as tokens of appreciation. These meaningful gifts represented far more than souvenirs, they symbolized friendship, cultural exchange, and the lasting bonds formed between our volunteers and the local community.

We want to express our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to our incredible ENT volunteer team for their unwavering dedication, compassionate care, and tireless hard work throughout this mission. From long days in the operating room to moments of comfort and connection with patients and staff, this team gave their all with kindness, humility, and servant hearts. Your willingness to travel far from home to serve others has made a lasting impact on countless lives, and we are endlessly thankful for each and every one of you!

We are also deeply grateful to the staff at Majuro Hospital and our Marshallese hosts for welcoming our team with such generosity and island spirit. The friendships and memories created over these two weeks will stay with us forever.

Safe travels home to our amazing volunteers and kommol tata for an unforgettable mission filled with healing, hope, and love🌴✨

Midway Through Week Two: The ENT Mission Continues Strong in Majuro🩺

As the mission moves through its second week, our volunteer specialists continue working alongside local healthcare staff to provide life-changing ear, nose, and throat care to patients across the Marshall Islands.

This week has been filled with powerful moments:
✨ Children leaving appointments smiling with toys, balloons, and renewed comfort
✨ Patients experiencing improved hearing and receiving specialized audiology care
✨ Surgical teams performing complex procedures with precision and compassion
✨ Hospital hallways filled with energy, teamwork, and hope

We also want to express our deep gratitude to the incredible ENT volunteer team serving on the ground in Majuro. From long hours in surgery and patient care to comforting families and supporting one another, their dedication, expertise, and compassion are making a lasting impact every single day.

Behind every patient story is a community of donors, volunteers, medical professionals, and supporters helping make this mission possible.

To our Canvasback Missions supporters back home: thank you for being part of something bigger. Your generosity is helping deliver specialized care to families who may otherwise have limited access to these services.

Together, we are changing lives; one patient, one surgery, and one story at a time. ❤️

A few days before her 8th birthday🎈Rostina received a gift she had been waiting over a year for: relief

For more than a year, Rostina had been telling her family about a bad odor coming from her nose. Like many kids, she didn’t remember exactly what had happened, only that something didn’t feel right. During our current ENT mission, volunteer surgeon Dr. Steve Lee, alongside Zaly Panaguiton, OR Supervisor, and Junior John, CRNA performed an exploratory procedure to find the cause.

What they discovered was unexpected: a foreign object deep inside her nose that appeared to be part of a candy wrapper.

Rostina didn’t even remember how it got there, but she was all smiles after it was safely removed💛

Sometimes the biggest impact on these missions comes through helping one child breathe easier, sleep better, and live without discomfort after suffering for far too long.

Stories like Rostina’s are happening every day during the Canvasback ENT mission in the Marshall Islands. Volunteer specialists are working side-by-side with local healthcare teams to provide life-changing care for patients who often have limited access to specialized treatment.

And none of it happens alone.

To every donor, volunteer, medical professional, and supporter who stands behind these missions: you are part of these moments too!

Your generosity helps bring skilled medical teams, equipment, and compassionate care to families across the Marshall Islands.
Because of this community, children like Rostina are receiving the care they deserve.

Five days. Hundreds of patients. Countless lives touched🏥♥️

This past week, our amazing volunteer ENT team from Canvasback Missions and the dedicated staff at Majuro Hospital have impacted hundreds of lives in Majuro.

Together, they completed:

• 213 patient visits
• 68 audiology exams
• 30 hearing aids dispensed
• 15 surgeries completed
• 10 additional surgeries scheduled in the coming days

But these numbers tell a much bigger story.

Behind every patient visit is someone finally being heard. Behind every hearing aid is a child reconnecting with their classroom, a grandparent hearing loved ones more clearly, or a parent returning to daily life with renewed confidence. Behind every surgery is relief, hope, and the promise of a healthier future.

Your support helps make moments like these possible. Moments that create lasting impact far beyond the walls of a clinic.

And the work is not finished yet! The mission continues into next week, with more patients still waiting to be seen and more lives ready to be changed.

Thank you to our donors, volunteers, and partners who believe everyone deserves access to care. You are part of every life touched along the way💙

Your support is making a real impact in the Marshall Islands🩺

On day three of our ENT mission at Majuro Hospital, a patient was able to breathe independently and regain her voice after specialized treatment from the Canvasback team.

As our current ENT mission continues, we’re already preparing for our next mission this August‼️ We’re looking for more volunteers to join us, specifically Optometrists, Dentists, and Dental Assistants.

Whether you serve medically, support behind the scenes, or help make these missions possible through donations, there is a place for you to make an impact.
