The Benicia Community Foundation presents the Benicia Dog Festival. Alright friends!
You know how much I love dogs!
The California Farm Bureau Federation is having a state-wide contest for the best farm dog!

This year I'm going to enter my incredible dog Scout (AKA Scruffy Puppy) for all of his hard work keeping the gophers and mole rats away from my orchard!

Your farm can be an urban farm, a ranchette, or a commercial farm- it doesn't matter the size! What matters is that you become a Farm Bureau Member- it is a tax-deductible donation AND you get a lot of great info about not only farming and ranching, but also grants and for sale by owner equipment, land, etc.
They are accepting applications until June 28.

The Benicia Dog Festival is attending Boots and Bling-
Hold Your Horses Livestock Emergency Evacuation Response Team annual gala and primary fundraiser.
We want you to attend with us! It is going to be SO MUCH FUN!!!

Sorry about the late notice; the event is this Saturday, Feb. 10th, from 5-10PM. Below is the eventbrite link-

Hold Your Horses Livestock Emergency Evacuation Response Team is one of the primary organizations that help rescue, care for large and small animals as well as assist in training many volunteers on how to care for distressed animals in emergencies.

Founder, Chantel Tieman informed the Benicia Dog Festival that there have been an expotential increase of people dumping Livestock, horses and other smaller animals! They have seen such an increase of rescues that they are running very low in funding- with the rains over the last couple days, there have been so many emergencies that they were unable to rescue them all!
One way we can help is going to the fundraiser.

Will you help?
The Benicia Dog Festival was such a fun FREE event to celebrate our most loyal members of the community- DOGS!
and its' purpose is to additionally raise money for organizations that rescue and care for animals in emergencies in our region-

These organizations are in need of funds for not only emergencies in the present and future, but also the care of animals that were abandoned, surrendered or not able to return to their homes.

Currently there is little or no funding for the rescue and care for animals in emergencies because animals are considered personal property. Every dollar counts.

Memories of the Dog&Me Happy Hours 2023!
A very special thank you to local dog-friendly resturants Lucca Bar & Grill, Mare Island Brewing Co., Cullen's Tannery Pub & Saloon, The THE CHILL, Rookies Sports Bar and Grill for hosting some very fun happy hours where members of the community could bring their dogs and to have some great fun together. Thank you to all of the local businesses that donated raffle prizes.

A special thank you to for hosting the Humane Society of the North Bay dog adoption event and a special thank you to animal loving Realtor Ravin Bhatia for helping these pups get adopted.

These happy hours were SO MUCH FUN, just look at all of the smiles.

The Benicia Community Foundation is a 501c3 organization who oversees the Benicia Dog Festival. The funds raised from this event assist organizations that rescue and care for animals in our region during emergencies.

We are grateful for all of the local craftspeople, food trucks and pet services that were vendors at the 3rd Annual Benicia Dog Festival! Attendees were able to get most anything pet related.

Meet George!

George competed in his first Benicia Dog Day Costume Contest! While our sweet corndog did not place, his best pal/neighbor, Eddy, took home a trophy. Thank you to volunteers, red carpet interviews, and all the hundreds of dogs that George sniffed throughout the day. We‘re coming back next year for the gold 🌽
