🇺🇸 American Legion Post 284 at the Department of Florida Convention 🇺🇸

Our members had a great time attending the American Legion Department of Florida Convention and learning more about The American Legion, its programs, and the many resources available to better serve our communities.

We were honored to spend time with our Department’s outgoing Commander and officers, as well as meet the newly elected leadership who will continue carrying the mission of The American Legion forward.

It was a great honor for Post 284 to attend this important event. We look forward to bringing back the knowledge, ideas, and connections gained to continue strengthening our Post and making a positive impact in our community.

During the meeting, we presented a check in support of their vital work. We thank them for the positive change they bring to our youth!

American Legion Al Krietemeyer Post 284 extends heartfelt congratulations to Robert Vass on earning his Certified Local Government Communicator credential! 👏🇺🇸
Our Post deeply appreciates everything Robert does for the Belleview community; his dedication, professionalism, and constant willingness to lend a hand whenever we reach out. His support and engagement make a real difference, and we’re proud to recognize his outstanding service.
Thank you, Robert, for all you do to strengthen our hometown and its connection to our veterans and residents alike. ❤️💙

The City of Belleview is proud to announce that Robert Vass, Community Engagement Liaison, has earned the Certified Local Government Communicator (CLGC) credential as part of the inaugural class of the program offered through the Florida Municipal Communicators Association in partnership with the Florida League of Cities.

The CLGC program was developed to meet the growing and evolving demands of local government communications professionals, whose responsibilities increasingly include strategic planning, public engagement, crisis communication, media relations, and digital outreach. The certification program provides participants with advanced training, practical experience, and leadership development focused on strengthening communication efforts within local government organizations.

As part of the program, participants completed seven core instructional modules covering key areas such as strategic messaging, community outreach, media relations, ethics, and crisis response. The curriculum also included hands-on assignments and a capstone project designed to demonstrate applied knowledge and measurable professional growth. Coursework for the program was developed in collaboration with university faculty, industry-recognized communications experts, and experienced local government professionals to ensure both academic quality and real-world relevance.

Earning the CLGC credential reflects a strong commitment to professional development and effective public service communication. The certification also supports the City of Belleview’s ongoing mission to strengthen transparency, foster community trust, and enhance engagement with residents through clear, accurate, and meaningful communication.

The City of Belleview remains committed to investing in innovation, leadership, and professional growth opportunities that help improve services and strengthen connections with the community. Congratulations to Robert on this outstanding accomplishment and dedication to serving Belleview residents.
