Congratulations to Buddy Crosby for Volunteer Of The Month!

September is a full month at the post: Labor Day on Monday the 7th closes out summer and honors the American worker, but not a Veteran holiday; Patriot Day on Friday the 11th marks 25 years since the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93, with flags at half-staff and a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m.; Constitution Day on Thursday the 17th recognizes the signing of the document every one of us swore to support and defend back in 1787; Friday the 18th does double duty as the Air Force's 79th birthday and National POW/MIA Recognition Day, when the black-and-white flag flies and the empty table is set for the more than 81,000 Americans still unaccounted for; Sunday the 27th is Gold Star Mother's and Family's Day, honoring the families of those who never came home; and we close the month on Tuesday the 29th with VFW Day, marking 127 years of veterans taking care of veterans.

Great Birthday party for our Commander Russ Weston. Lots of family and friends. The hall was beautiful and the food was great thanks to the hard work and dedication of Amy Francis and Diane Poland. There is never enough to be said about the entire volunteer team that makes it happen. Thank you! Happy Birthday Commander! Here’s to many more exciting years ahead of you!
