Our general meeting was bitter sweet last evening as it was the last meeting for our President, Barb Salo, as she leaves us to enjoy her best life in the UP. Barb has put extraordinary effort in fulfilling her duties with us while trying to commute from her new home. She will be missed.

Another AWA Golf Outing is in the books. Once again, the weather was not in our favor but everyone soldiered on and had a great time. We are so grateful to the people who support us year after year and make it possible for us to contribute to our community. A shout out to our members who put in countless hours making this event possible and to the businesses who provided support.

Thought for the day (the message at our meeting last night):

Just as a master weaver transforms fragile, individual threads into a strong and beautiful fabric, we build vibrant communities by weaving our lives together.

Each of us is a unique strand—different in color, texture, and strength. Some are bold and sturdy, others soft and subtle.

Alone, a single thread can fray and break. But when we intertwine with care, patience, and purpose—listening, supporting, celebrating, and lifting one another—we create something far more powerful than any of us could alone.

A tapestry that tells a rich story.
A blanket that provides warmth and shelter.
A fabric resilient enough to withstand storms, yet flexible enough to grow.In community, we are the weavers.
Every kind word is a knot of connection.
Every act of service tightens the weave.
Every new voice added to the loom brings fresh beauty and strength.

Let us weave with intention, generosity, and love—so that the communities we build are not only strong, but truly beautiful, and worthy of the hands that made them.

The Three Lakes Association was presented a check from Antrim Women's Alliance to support their summer internship program. This program equips students with the resources to understand potential threats to our watershed and lakes through hands on experience. Students identify variables that may impact water quality, formulate critical questions, and help in the design of a scientific study to address these concerns. The program provides an excellent opportunity for high school students to acquire skills applicable to careers in environmental science and beyond. Antrim Women's Alliance is proud to provide continued support many educational programs throughout the county. There is still time to get your foursome together and join the fun at our 6th annual golf outing on Sunday. You will have a great time with friends and neighbors while helping us to fund the giving that we do for local non-profits.

We are so proud of Antrim Scholar Aspen Evans for bravely reading her essay in front of a live audience at the Alluvion!

Aspen, along with fellow Antrim Scholars Savannah Duff and Emma Wiltse, were also published authors in The Bluff 2026 Literary Journal — an incredible accomplishment that reflects their talent, courage, and hard work.

Seeing our scholars use their voices, share their stories, and step confidently into opportunities like this is exactly what Antrim Scholars is all about.

Congratulations Aspen, Savannah, and Emma — your community is cheering you on! 💙📚✨
