Today we remember Douglas Stone, who we lost on 3/11/07.

Sgt. 1st Class Doug Stone of Taylorsville, Utah graduated from Milford High School in Oakland County, Michigan and attended Grand Valley State University for two years.

He was a career soldier who moved to Utah in 1999 and had served previously in the 1991 Gulf War. It it was his job to decide when soldiers were ready for service overseas. He deployed to Iraq to help train the country's fledgling armed forces.

Stone was with the military transition team of the Army's 108th Division. Doug was born at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, to David and Dolores Freeland Stone.

He grew up in Milford, Mich. On Aug. 15, 1992, he married Mary Hayes, daughter of Hubert and Sally Hayes in Petoskey. Doug was a highly decorated Sergeant First Class with more than 18 years of active military service in the United States Army. He served bravely and faithfully in two separate conflicts, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, with great distinction. He enjoyed camping and antique autos. He was 49.

What an Honor to be able to help this young lady out. Her father SGT Calo (Marine) was KIA while Serving our Great Nation and the World with Freedom and Democracy. Never Give Up. We also reminded her she has a big family to help and watch over her if ever in need.

Derrick Perry would like to help even more.

He has an amazing attitude. Talking the man down at Walmart after he stabbed 11 people and not using Deadly force.

His wife Katrina Derrick Perry and his stepson Devan Kelley has allowed us to help with a joint fund raiser for the medical bills of the victims. 100% of the funds raised will go to the medical expenses directly to the hospitals. Devan and I set up a quick go fund me page and I was unaware they took $15 per $100 donation We take zero and we are run by volunteers who do it for free as a non profit we give tax write offs for all the money we received as of now we are at over $8000.00 raised.
