Harford County Education Foundation will be there accepting donations of NEW school supplies to help keep the shelves of our Tools for Schools Resource Center stocked throughout the school year.

Students aren't just learning from textbooks. They're designing, building, testing, problem-solving and figuring out what happens when the first idea doesn't quite work.

These are the kinds of experiences that turn lessons into something students can see, touch and explore.

Harford County Education Foundation helps create opportunities for students to discover what interests them, challenge themselves and imagine where those interests might take them.

Because sometimes a classroom experience does more than teach a lesson. It helps a student discover what's possible. 💙

The Stuff the Bus school supply drive ends September 11, but the need for school supplies continues throughout the school year. Thanks to our incredible community partners and donors, we’ve already helped more than 1,600 Harford County Public Schools students begin school ready, confident, and prepared to learn. 💙

As the new school year gets started, new students continue to enroll, supplies will be used up, and teachers and students need replacements. And the Tools for Schools Resource Center is ready to help.

✏️ We are especially in need of:
• Composition books
• Broad-tip markers
• Scissors
• Pencils
• Crayons
• Wipes

Through September 11, donations can be dropped off in Stuff the Bus collection bins at participating community partner locations throughout Harford County, including Bel Air Orthodontics - Stephen L. Godwin, DMD, DMSc. Or you can locate a donation site at www.harfordeducation.org/o/edfoundation/page/stuff-the-bus-collection-sites

After Stuff the Bus ends, school supply donations are still welcome year-round at the Tools for Schools Resource Center. School supplies can also be purchased from our Target, Walmart, and Amazon registries at www.harfordeducation.org/o/edfoundation/page/school-supplies-resources

🎒 400 backpacks. 400 students starting the school year ready to learn!

What a wonderful investment in the students of Joppatowne Elementary! Congratulations to Jones Toyota for providing 400 backpacks filled with school supplies through Toyota's partnership with Kids In Need Foundation.

We are especially proud to partner with Jones Junction through Tools for Schools, where their Stuff the Bus school supply drive support helps us put school supplies into the hands of even more Harford County students throughout the school year.

Together, we're making sure students have the tools they need to walk into the classroom ready to learn, participate and succeed.

Today, during our Teacher Shop & Stock event, something special happened. ❤️

A mom saw our event on Facebook and stopped by because she needed school supplies for her daughter. On Monday, her little girl will walk through the doors of Hickory Elementary School for her very first day of kindergarten. It’s a big day for her daughter and a big day for Mom, too. Every mom knows that feeling when your baby takes that first big step away from you and into school. Mom wanted her daughter’s first day to be perfect.

And so did we. ❤️

We helped Mom find everything
on her daughters school supply
list, and Mom picked out the perfect backpack. By the time she left, her daughter was ready for kindergarten. And Mom was ready for that very special first day.

We often talk about the thousands of students we serve by sending school supplies directly to schools throughout Harford County Public Schools. What we don't often share are the children and families who come through our doors and receive help directly. We cherish their privacy, so those stories usually remain quietly within our walls.

But this time, Mom wanted to share the joy. And we're so glad we got to be a small part of a very big moment for one little girl and her mom. ❤️

Our Tools for Schools Resource Center is buzzing as teachers shop FREE for school supplies to take back to their classrooms and, most importantly, their students! 🎒🍎

We’re so happy to help stock classrooms, support educators, and make sure our students have the tools they need to start the school year strong.

🐾📚 Happy National Dog Day! 📚🐾

Backpacks packed. Pencils sharpened. And even our four-legged friends are ready to learn!

Dogs may not be heading into the classroom, but they’re pretty good teachers themselves, showing us about curiosity, patience, loyalty, and the joy of learning something new. 🐶💙

As students across Harford County begin a new school year, we’re celebrating National Dog Day by kicking things off with Camden and his pups, Perry and Bolt! We’re wishing Camden an amazing school year filled with learning, discovery, and plenty of tail wags waiting for him at home.
