The City of Bedford is applying for a $350,000 Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to assist eligible homeowners with critical home repairs and accessibility improvements. ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐, ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ต๐ผ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐. If awarded, the grant would provide funding to qualifying Bedford homeowners at ๐ป๐ผ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ. The program is designed to help residents remain safely and comfortably in their homes by addressing essential housing needs that may otherwise create financial hardship.
Eligible repairs include:

ADA accessibility modifications to home entrances
To qualify for assistance, applicants must own and occupy the home as their primary residence within Bedford city limits, and total household income must be at or below 80 percent of the Area Median Income.
The City of Bedford has previously benefited from OCRA's Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program. In 2024, Bedford was awarded $300,000 in grant funding, allowing the City to assist 15 homeowners with critical repairs and improvements.
