We were honored to participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run supporting the Special Olympics fundraising campaign efforts.

Corporal Piccirrillo, Cadet Steczkowski, Cadet Keogh, and Officer Olivero proudly took part in the approximately 3-mile run, which included several challenging hills on an extremely hot day. Meg and Greg, we are incredibly proud of you both. You embraced the challenge, pushed through and gave it your all from start to finish. 👏👏

The Torch Run is a wonderful opportunity for Officers and Cadets to build teamwork, leadership, and support an outstanding cause.

We look forward to having even more Cadets participate in next year’s run.

Keep up the great work, everyone! 🚓🏃‍♂️

What a meeting!

Tonight, Cadets covered several important topics and participated in a variety of training exercises and classroom activities. We learned about human trafficking and worked together on a group crossword puzzle that reinforced key concepts from the lesson.

Cadets also took part in a series of shoot/don’t shoot scenarios. These exercises are designed to develop the ability to make rapid, legally sound, and ethically appropriate decisions under stress—situations that Police Officers may face in the real world.

This type of hands-on training emphasizes threat assessment, verbal communication and de-escalation, tactical positioning, the use of cover, and an understanding of the legal standards governing use of force.

Consistent training helps Cadets strengthen their skills, build confidence, and prepare for future challenges.

We will be incorporating even more practical, hands-on skills training in the coming meetings, and we’re excited for what’s ahead!

Today we recognize International Flight Attendant Day (also known as International Cabin Crew Day), celebrated each year on May 31st. ✈️

First observed in Canada in 2015, this day has grown into a global tribute to the incredible work of cabin crew around the world.

Beyond providing excellent service, flight attendants are highly trained professionals—prepared to handle emergencies such as fires, medical situations, and evacuations. Their role in keeping passengers safe often goes unseen, but it’s absolutely essential.

Here’s to the dedication, professionalism, and care of cabin crew everywhere! 💙

Happy Memorial Day
May 25, 2026

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the true meaning of this day and pay tribute to those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day.

The members of our department extend our deepest gratitude to all families and to those who continue to serve our nation with honor.

We remember the fallen. We honor their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Year 1 is officially in the books!!!

What an incredible first year it has been. Establishing this program and providing such a unique opportunity for our youth has been truly rewarding.

The program was officially established in May 2025, and we held our first Beacon Falls Police Cadet meeting on May 17.

Since then, every and every one of our Cadets has consistently demonstrated hard work, dedication, and commitment to making this program something special.

We look forward to continuing our volunteer efforts, strengthening community relationships, and creating positive opportunities for the youth in our community.

We’re going to keep the good work and energy going strong into year two and making this program a staple in the valley area. We have some exciting training and lessons ahead. Congratulations to all.
