UPDATE: we have been in contact with personnel on ground in PR.

The water situation in Puerto Rico remains serious, especially in and around San Juan, although it is largely being driven by aging infrastructure rather than a lack of rainfall.

Authorities have:

* Activated the National Guard.
* Increased water truck deliveries.
* Begun emergency infrastructure projects, with officials announcing over $200 million in water system improvements.
* Formed teams to investigate and stabilize the water system.

If you have family or friends in Puerto Rico, let me know which town or municipality they’re in (for example, Ponce, Bayamón, Carolina, Caguas, or another area), and I can check whether that specific location is currently affected by water outages. Please let us know and we can offer some assistance if needed.
