💚💛 SEPTA BACK-TO-SCHOOL CHECK-IN 💙

As we get closer to the first day of school, this is a great time for our special education families to do a quick check-in. 🎒📚

Before the school year begins:

✅ Review your child’s IEP or 504 Plan
✅ Make sure you have a copy of your child’s current plan
✅ Review accommodations, modifications, services and goals
✅ Talk with your child about what helps them feel comfortable and successful at school
✅ Write down any questions or concerns you want to discuss with the school team
✅ Keep important emails, evaluations and school documents together
✅ Most importantly — remind your child that their disability does not define their potential.

💙And parents and caregivers, remember: you are an important member of your child’s educational team. Your knowledge of your child matters, and your voice matters.

Brentwood SEPTA is looking forward to another year of supporting families, sharing resources, building community and advocating together.

💚💛 ONE WEEK TO GO, BRENTWOOD! 🎒📚

The countdown is officially on! Just ONE WEEK until our Brentwood students head back to school for the 2026–2027 school year! 💚💛

As backpacks get packed, schedules get checked, and families prepare for new routines, Brentwood Special Education PTA (SEPTA) wants every family to know:

You are not alone on this journey.

Whether your child has an IEP, a 504 Plan, receives related services, is being evaluated, or you simply want to support a more inclusive school community — there is a place for you at Brentwood SEPTA.

This year, we’re looking forward to:

💚 Helping parents better understand advocacy and their child’s educational journey

💙✨ Brentwood SEPTA is truly honored and grateful to be highlighted by the New York State PTA Membership Team. ✨💙

Being recognized for the work we are doing in our community means so much to us because everything we do comes from a place of love, advocacy, inclusion, and support for our students and families.

Walking Into Acceptance: All Abilities Expo was created to bring awareness, acceptance, resources, and connection to our community while ensuring that every child and family feels welcomed, valued, and celebrated. To see this event continue to grow each year is something we are incredibly proud of.

🍎✨ This Teacher Appreciation Week, we had the pleasure of dropping off coffee cakes to the amazing staff at Brentwood Special Services, Brentwood High School, the Freshman Center, and North Middle School! ✨🍎

A small gesture to say THANK YOU to the incredible teachers, staff, and support teams who show up every single day for our students with dedication, compassion, and heart. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for all that you do for the Brentwood community. ❤️
