Troop 479 and 5479 scouts have had a busy past month! This weekend they're camping at Camp Lewis for the Spirit Lake District Cub-o-Ree. Back on 2/28 and 3/1 a group of scouts was up at Mt. Hood at Aubrey Watzek Lodge for some end-of-winter fun. With spring finally here and new scouts in the troop from Pack crossovers, the troop is excitedly preparing for even more activities. Coming up soon, some Scouts will be going to Sea Base over spring break and another contingent will be having an overnight adventure at OMSI on the USS Blueback submarine. OA elections are coming up, too! So MUCH going on, and a lot of fun and learning being had by all these scouts.

Christmas tree recycling is this weekend on Saturday! We’ve had several inquires on if our troops are picking up trees! Yes, we are. We will be servicing the neighborhoods we service every year and that is mostly in the felida area. If you’re unsure if that’s Troop 479 & 5479, please visit https://scouttreerecycling.com/ and enter your address. If there is a unit covering your address, you will be given the information on how to contact or donate. Trees must be out by 8 AM. Happy new year!

We’re excited to announce that this year we are launching a new partnership with the Optimist International Club and will be supporting their Christmas Tree Lot instead of running our own.

This is an exciting new venture for our Scouts and our community. With this partnership, you’ll enjoy:

🎁 An expanded selection of holiday items
🤝 A strong new community collaboration

And here’s an easy way to support our Scouts directly:
📄 Print our flyer and take it with you when you purchase your tree at the Optimist International Club Tree Lot — they will donate $10 to Troops 479 & 5479 for every flyer turned in.
