Join us this Saturday from 10:30am-11:30am for an interactive session introducing some of Bastrop County's most frequently seen species of snakes, busting commonly held snake myths, how to identify venomous individuals, and what to do if you encounter one. This is a partner program with Bastrop Public Library. Sssssseee you there!

Howdy, Y'all! We are heading into September already, and the first two weeks of the month have lots of activities and offerings at the Bastrop Public Library! Closed next Monday, Sept. 5 for Labor Day, but other than that - open with those new hours every day at 10AM. See you at the Library!

Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library to honor her father, Robert Lee Parton, a sharecropper who never learned to read or write. Since that time, the foundation has distributed over 330 million books to children worldwide. We strive to follow Dolly's example in our support of the Bastrop Public Library, our free book distributions and Friends events, local scholarship awards, and we will continue to support ongoing literacy in our community. As always, we appreciate your support - we all want to 'be like Dolly!'

Thanks to our friends at Southside Market & Barbeque for the yummy sausage and all the staff who worked so hard to make the Bastrop Public Library Volunteer Appreciation Dinner go so well on Monday evening! A good time was had by all!

Have you visited our 'Nook' lately? It's a terrific, little bookstore right inside the Bastrop Public Library! We have lots of puzzles, audiobooks, dvd's and of course all genres of books, including some new kids' books we stocked today! Prices start at only $1 and all proceeds go to support the library programs. We hope to see you stop in this Saturday or any day of the week.
