Our costume team has been hard at work bringing 1988 back to life for Neil Simon’s Rumors.

Sequins. Satin. Tuxedos. Shoulder pads.

And before the evening is over, every one of these impeccably dressed guests will find themselves tangled in one outrageous lie after another.

Meet JULIE PRICE! The director of PPTC's Rumors.

WHY RUMORS?
"My absolute favorite genre of play is a well written farce. I love directing a show that gives an audience the opportunity to laugh our loud together and leave the rest of the world outside. There is nothing like it. RUMORS, by award-winning playwright Neil Simon, fits the bill perfectly."

FAVORITE CHARACTER?
"I do not have just ONE. Each character takes turns wearing the mantel of "favorite" throughout the show for me. They are all very shallow and beautiful YUPPIES, but have their own distinct affliction or peculiarities which is a perfect set up for hilarious interaction.

WHAT MAKES THIS PRODUCTION SPECIAL?
"The people. Working with a very creative and committed PPTC staff and talented cast makes every rehearsal productive and rewarding. Our goal is to put toether a show that will leave the audience wanting more and to make 'em laugh!"

Rumors are true...rehearsals are officially underway!

Our cast and production team gathered for the first read-through of Neil Simon’s Rumors and the laughter started immediately.

Set in 1988, Rumors follows four couples whose elegant anniversary party spirals into complete chaos as cover stories, misunderstandings, and outrageous lies pile up faster than anyone can keep track of them.

Big hair. Big shoulder pads. Big laughs.

We can’t wait to share this wildly funny production with you.

We’re thrilled to announce that Parker Players Theater Company has received a $24,000 grant from the Barrington Area Community Foundation to fund a permanent illuminated sign along Northwest Highway!

Designed by Parvin-Clauss Sign Company, the new sign will feature the PPTC logo and Parker Players Theater — creating a beautiful beacon announcing that compelling, professional-caliber theater is thriving right here in Barrington.

This project is also supported by generous Stage The Build donors. We are currently finalizing permits with the supportive Village of Barrington and anticipate installation in autumn 2026.
