For over a year now dozens of volunteers have been working hard to build a brand new ~20 mile trail system in the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve in Hoffman Estates. The west side is fast and flowy while the new east side is twisty with more elevation. Something for everyone. Kids, adults, MTB, gravel bikes and of course it will be groomed in the winter so fat bikes too!

They still have a few miles left to build and can always use more volunteers. The next workday is Saturday Nov. 12th 8am-12pm. We meet in the south parking lot of the PD Forest Preserve. Bring a water bottle (camelbak works great), gloves and work boots or more rugged shoes. Hope to see you out there!

One of our favorite gravel trails is the Des Plaines River Trail. Starting at Lake Cook Rd and heading north you have over 25 miles of smooth, wide and well maintained gravel. All busy roads have over or underpasses. There are several spots along the way to jump off the trail and grab water/food. There is a large parking lot at the Half Day Forest Preserve which puts you exactly 25 miles from the end of the trail at Russell Rd. just before the WI border. If you ride gravel and want miles this is one trail worth checking out.

Here ya go, cold-weather shredders…

The annual Raceway Woods ‘Holiday Huck Jam’ is on! This Sunday, Jan 30th, from 9am to 12pm. Raceway Woods in Carpentersville, IL.

Yes, the holidays are a distant memory, but the forecast says the conditions will be perfect for some fat-tire fun! The Trail Crew’s been busy grooming the trails, so get out and get some! We’ve had great turnouts in the past, we’re hoping to keep the streak goin’….

Park at the silo lot, see you there…
