🎃🐴🐶 Pumpkins, Ponies & Puppies…OH MY! Our SOUL Buddies Animal Therapy Club students from Barrington High School had a SPOOKtacular time handling our therapy animals at Barrington Youth and Family Services!

The students enjoyed some special hands-on time handling and connecting with therapy dogs Betty, Gracie, Maverick & Schatzi, along with therapy horses Sunshine & Unique, while they visited with everyone who came out today for this great yearly event!

What a PAWsome day of training with our therapy dogs at Barrington High School today. Therapy dogs Bliss, Betty, Gracie, Maverick & Schatzi enjoyed the great handling and lots of tummy rubs. Meanwhile little Mav was happiest being held by everyone!

The SOUL Buddies Animal Therapy Club students from Barrington High School did a fabulous job working with our miniature therapy horses today. They groomed, walked, whoa’d, gave hugs and visited! They even got some special SOUL Kisses!

First training day at the ranch with SOUL Buddies and everyone did great. This club is mentored by our SOUL Harbour volunteers and they help them with haltering, grooming, walking and whoaing. Many never handled horses before but with the foundation of working with the dogs, it seems to have helped them be very comfortable with the horses. The piggies also gave a little concert too. So proud of everyone here and looking forward to our next training and visit!

We are so incredibly proud of the SOUL Buddies Animal Therapy Club students from Barrington High School. They had their 1st therapy animal visit of the 2026-2027 school year with therapy dogs Betty, Daisy, Sawyer & Schatzi and therapy horse Dolly. We have several experienced handlers but for many it was their first visit. They all brought wonderful smiles to the residents, family members & staff!

What a beautiful day for our last SOUL Buddies Community visit for the 25/26 school year. Today we partnered with Barrington Youth and Family Services & BStrong Together outside of Starbucks. Registered Therapy Dogs Sawyer, Betty, Schatzi & Gracie as well as Therapy Horse Cupcake loved sharing their unconditional love with our Barrington community. Lots of smiles, hugs and pets were had by kids of all ages. We wish our SOUL Buddies Animal Therapy Club students a happy and safe summer and see you next year!

We have been so honored to have incredible seniors in the SOUL Buddies Animal Therapy Club at Barrington High School. At today’s visit we had Josh and Joie, and then Joie and others came out to celebrate! We will miss Joie, Alex, Josh and Chloe but we know the younger students will carry on this amazing club. We will see Josh at Transitions and Joie at NIU when we visit! We’re talking about a SOUL Buddies to NIU!
