🚨The Nelson County Fair Board is aware of a recent incident involving a physical fight at the Nelson County Fair Grounds during the KOI Drag Racing event on April 11, 2026, which was recorded and shared on social media. The Individuals involved have been identified and will no longer be allowed at our events moving forward. This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of our community or the purpose of these family friendly events.

The Nelson County Fairgrounds is a place for families, friends, and visitors to come together in a safe and welcoming environment. Acts of violence, disorderly conduct, or any behavior that threatens the safety of others will NOT be tolerated under any circumstances. Moving forward, security measures will be viewed and strengthened as needed. Individuals involved in disruptive or violent behavior will be removed from the premises and could face further consequences, including being barred from future events and possible legal action.

We ask for the community's cooperation in maintaining a respectful and safe atmosphere for everyone. If you witness concerning behavior, please report it immediately to Bobby Simpson (President) of Nelson County Fair Board or Chucky Downs (Fair Manager) or local law enforcement.
