Willow House

Willow House Willow House supports children, families, schools and communities who are coping with grief and the death of a loved one.

Willow House core services include peer support groups for children, teens, and families, provided at no charge. Groups are located in Arlington Heights, Chicago, Libertyville and Bannockburn, including a group for children and families grieving a su***de death. At Willow House, children and families come together, gain mutual support, and are able to express their grief in a safe, compassionate p

lace. The Willow House School and Community Outreach Program provides education for schools, workplaces and communities dealing with grief and death through workshops, consultation and crisis intervention. We also provide professional development, including CEUs for social workers in the field of grief support.

A place to grieve, a path to hope. Today, we took a few moments to slow down and reflect with board member and Willow House volunteer, Jo Zinman. Jo shared why she walks and what Willow House means to her. In the comments, let us know why you are walking and who you're walking for! It's not to late to register and create a memory marker for your person. Join us on September 20th at Independence Grove!

Grief doesn't wait until kids grow up to show up, so why should the resources?

We're so proud to share that our Willow House Teen Community Member is featured in the new issue of Get Griefy Magazine's Kids Issue, a first of its kind grief resource made for adolescent grievers, their caregivers, and everyone who shows up to support them.

Colorful, vibrant, and packed with activities, reflection prompts, and discussion questions, this issue isn't just meant to be flipped through, it's meant to be used, shared, and lived in.
