This year we celebrate America’s 250 birthday as we honor our fallen heroes. Our 2026 speaker at the Commemorative Ceremony will be Reverend Daniel Pickering. We hope to see you there.

One week until our community-wide yard sale weekend here in Avoca! If you haven't already, clean out those closets, hoe out the garage, and get ready for a weekend full of treasure hunting and fun with neighbors! Friday through Sunday, May 15th -17th from 8am to 5pm. If you plan to have a sale and would like to share the location or some images of the goodies you'll have for sale, feel free to add them in the comments below or tag us in your own post. More details to come on food and drink the Avoca Community Foundation will be offering for sale on Saturday the 16th!

An update on our Christmas Decorating Contest! We only had a few contestants enter, making voting a challenge with no "competition" in the categories. However, we have MANY beautifully decorated homes throughout the village! Therefore, after making our way down every village street this week to take in all of the displays, we've decided that EVERY decorated home will be eligible and our board of directors will be selecting winners for each category! Winners will be announced tomorrow, so stay tuned!!!
