We would like to spotlight a very special workshop we hosted in January. Three employees from City of Austin Government visited two of our in-person workshops at the the Conley-Guerrero Senior Center and the Asian American Resource Center to gather feedback from our senior clients. The team was conducting research on how to improve the City of Austin website to make it more accessible.

The team was very receptive to feedback from our senior clients and also assisted participants in finding local Austin resources. We are incredibly grateful to the technology team, Luisa, Vicky, and Brett, for taking the time to listen to our seniors’ feedback and for their commitment to helping make Austin a place where people of all ages feel supported and heard.

We are also grateful to have played a small part in the new updates coming soon to the City of Austin website!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our incredible interns at PromoSalud, Karla and Eunice, for all of their contributions to Austin Free-Net during their time with us! Both interns received client outreach training in English and Spanish, among other tasks such as testing and documentation of donated devices. Due to their support in outreach, we taught 142 virtual students in the last quarter: ranging from topics about Google Sheets, AI, the cloud and more! Although we will miss Karla and Eunice, we cannot wait to see what they accomplish in the future!

The in-person workshop at the Conley Guerrero Senior Activity Center Parks and Recreation Department - Seniors Austin Parks and Recreation Department is CANCELED.

Asian American Resource Center - City of Austin beginner and intermediate in-person workshops will CONTINUE as scheduled.
