JUNE 2026 NEWSLETTER

The board sent out surveys to a random sampling of current and past members. We asked questions around range/meeting times, what topics/trainings, fundraising, etc. were wanted. If you did not receive a survey, did not get an opportunity to respond, or thought of something else, feel free to let a board member know your thoughts.



Based on the results, beginning in July the new range time will be the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30. This time will be for the summer when it is daylight longer. During the winter months when it gets dark earlier we will either adjust the time or have indoor trainings. With this new range time, we are hoping to get a better turnout. The more people in attendance the more people trained, which is our goal.



We also received several suggestions on topics members want to cover either during range practice or indoor trainings. We will incorporate these suggestions into our trainings.

To register, go to rangeusa.com and open the TRAINING tab. Open In-Person classes and select OH as the state and Cincy West store. Then select ALL CLASSES and scroll to the class and select it. Registration before May 26th. FIVE registrants required to run the class. Class attendance is limited to 16.

Knocking on your door

Some burglars knock first, pretending to be utility workers or contractors to gain access or scout your home. They can push themselves in.

Look through peephole, doorbell camera, nearby window

Through Unsecured Windows & Sliding Doors

Install security bars, reinforce locks, and consider window sensors or alarms. If you have a dog door, make sure to use the locking panel when not in use.

Anti-gun officials have been using zoning tricks to push gun shops and ranges into the shadows. Indiana just pushed back.

Gov. Mike Braun has signed SB 176, a new law that stops local governments from using zoning “gotchas” to delay or block lawful gun stores and ranges. Routine maintenance, remodels, and expansions now have to be treated as a continuation of a permitted use, not an excuse to deny permits, and gun stores and indoor ranges are clearly allowed on commercially and appropriately zoned property across the state.
