SB 3222 includes more than purchase limits and h**p regulations—it also modernizes how Illinois oversees its cannabis industry.

Key updates include:

✔ Enhanced consumer protections
✔ Additional oversight for cannabis and h**p products
✔ Stronger testing and compliance standards
✔ Streamlined employee badging processes
✔ Improved coordination between state agencies
✔ New tools to address deceptive business practices and non-compliant products

The goal is to create a safer, more transparent marketplace for patients, consumers, and businesses across Illinois.

As the cannabis industry continues to evolve, AuraLight remains committed to helping our community understand the changes shaping the future of cannabis in Illinois.

Questions about SB 3222? Stop in and speak with one of our knowledgeable agents.

SB 3222 isn't just about h**p regulation—it also expands access for Illinois medical cannabis patients.

Key changes include:

• Illinois dispensaries can now register to serve medical patients
• Curbside pickup and drive-through services are permitted for both adult-use and medical customers, with priority given to medical patients
• Physicians may certify qualifying conditions through telehealth appointments
• Additional qualifying conditions have been added, including certain conditions that disproportionately affect women, such as endometriosis and ovarian cysts

The goal is to make medical cannabis more accessible, convenient, and patient-focused for Illinois residents.

As cannabis laws continue to evolve, staying informed helps patients understand the options available to them.

06/24/2026

Illinois is closing the intoxicating h**p loophole.

Under SB 3222, intoxicating h**p products such as Delta-8, THC-P, HHC, and similar cannabinoids will be regulated under the same framework that governs Illinois' legal cannabis industry.

📅 Beginning November 12, 2026:
• Intoxicating h**p products will be regulated under Illinois cannabis laws
• Products will be subject to testing, labeling, and packaging requirements
• Child-resistant packaging and consumer safety standards will apply
• Only non-intoxicating C*D products containing less than 0.4 mg total THC may continue to be sold outside Illinois' regulated cannabis market

The goal is to provide consumers with greater transparency, product consistency, and safety protections.

At AuraLight, we believe informed consumers make better decisions. We'll continue sharing updates as Illinois cannabis laws evolve.

Illinois Purchase Limits Have Increased

One of the first changes under SB 3222 is an increase to Illinois adult-use cannabis possession limits.

For Illinois Residents:

⬆️ Flower: 30g → 60g
⬆️ Concentrates/Vapes: 5g → 10g
⬆️ Infused Products: 500mg THC → 1,000mg THC

For Out-of-State Visitors:

⬆️ Flower: 15g → 30g
⬆️ Concentrates/Vapes: 2.5g → 5g
⬆️ Infused Products: 250mg THC → 500mg THC

These updated limits are now in effect and bring Illinois more in line with several neighboring states.

At AuraLight, we're committed to helping our community stay informed about important changes to Illinois cannabis laws.
