Aurora Evening Lions Club We are the local Lions club in Aurora, Illinois, founded in 1978. We welcome all who are interested in helping our local community. Who Are Lions?

Our club meets 2nd Thursdays of month at 7pm--The Colonial Restaurant on Galena Blvd. Lions are goups of service-minded men and women who are interested in improving
their communities. To be a Lion is to be an active volunteer, a member of a
respected organization, a leader in the community and a friend to people in need. What do Lions Clubs Do? Lions move to make a difference locally and globall

y. Lions are best known for their
efforts to eradicate preventable blindess but also participate in many other kinds
of projects, including assisting those in needs for example paying for the costs
of eye exams and prescription eyeglasses to kids in Aurora School Districts 129 &
131 as well as Montgomery and Life Ministries (Wayside Cross for Women) and
paying for hearing aids to those who can least afford it. Many other projects. Too many to list. Please contact us for more information and we'll continue to

What a year it's been! Despite being unable to meet in the traditional sense, We've been busy!

June 2020:
Four Lions and one s***e cleaned up Indian Trail Road

August 2020:
Six Lions and 2 more volunteers cleaned up Indian Trail
7 Pairs of eyeglasses were collected and recycled
$50 donated to LIF in memory of PDG Jim Addington
$50 donated to LIF in memory of PDG Tom Greenwell
$200 donated to LIF Orientation and Mobility
$200 donated to LCIF Lebanon Relief

September 2020:
Lion Kyle Hartje received the Lion Don Phillips Lion of the Year award
Six Lions and one volunteer helped with Indian Trail Road Cleanup

October 2020:
Donated 100 to LIF In memory of Lion Jerry Friesenecker
Collected 2 hearing aids and many batteries for recycling

November 2020:
Collected and recycled 55 pairs of eyeglasses
Purchased a talking watch for a club member with a visual impairment.
Catered a $300 dinner at Ronald McDonald House
Supported the Navy Leagues Pearl Harbor Luncheon with $50 donation.

December 2020:
Collected and recycled 67 pairs of eyeglasses
$50 donated to LIF in memory of PDG Charlie Williams

January 2021:
Donated $200 to Spectrios Eye Clinic
Donated $150 to LIF Diabetes Awareness Campaign

February 2021:
Collected and recycled 27 pairs of eyeglasses
Donated $1050 to sponsor two campers at LIF Camp Lions
Donated $580 to LIF for two student visual evaluations
Donated $300 to Oakbrook Terrace Lions Someone Special Program

March 2021:
Collected and recycled 55 pairs of eyeglasses
Donated $100 to LIF Seeing is Believing program
Donated $100 to Lake Zurich Lions to build a ramp for a local individual
Donated $280 to the Sight and Sound sweepstakes

April 2021:
Donated $500 to support the purchase of 2 hearing aids
3 Lions attended the 1J convention
Elected 20-21 Lions board

May 2021:
Collected and recycled numerous hearing aids and batteries
Lion Bob McKnight Received the George Lazansky award
Lion Kurt Wurster received the Jim/Joyce Davis Lifetime Achievement Award
Six Lions and one spouse cleaned up Indian Trail
Six Lions participated in Tootsie pop days, raising $579 (60% was donated to LIF)
