❤️ Meet the Woman Behind the Page ❤️

Hi, I’m Ashley.

If you’re new here, welcome. I thought it might be time to introduce myself.

I’m a wife, a stepmom to two amazing girls, a full-time employee, a Guardian ad Litem, an animal lover, and for part of every year, a fundraiser organizer with a mission close to my heart.

Many years ago, I was a mom navigating hospital stays, therapies, medical uncertainty, and the challenges that come with caring for a child with complex needs. My daughter, Laila, changed my life forever. She taught me more about strength, resilience, unconditional love, and finding joy in difficult moments than I could ever put into words.

Today, my life looks different, but the lessons she taught me remain at the center of everything I do.

This page exists because I know what it feels like to be the parent sitting beside a hospital bed, wondering how you’ll make it through another day. I know the relief that comes when someone eases even a small part of that burden. And I know how much kindness can mean when life feels overwhelming.

That’s why I spend so much of my time fundraising and advocating—to honor Laila’s legacy and to help families who are walking a road I’ve walked before.

Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or just found us recently, thank you for being part of this community. Your support, encouragement, and willingness to share our mission mean more than you know.

I’d love to get to know you, too. Tell me how you found this page or what brought you here.

❤️Ashley

As we wrap up today, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve now reached 40% of our fundraising goal with $2,355 raised so far. We were also blessed by several additional donations today from my coworkers, and I am incredibly grateful for their support.

Every donation, share, comment, and word of encouragement helps us move closer to making a difference for families who need it most. It means more than you know.

We still have a journey ahead of us, but tonight I’m choosing to celebrate how far we’ve come and the amazing community standing behind this mission.

Thank you for believing in Laila’s Legacy and helping us continue this work. ❤️

If you’d like to help us take the next step toward our goal, the fundraiser link is in the comments.

Tell us about a kindness you’ll never forget.

Was it a stranger who helped you when you needed it most? A friend who showed up at the right time? A small gesture that meant everything?

Share your story in the comments.

Every day, families staying at Ronald McDonald House experience kindness from people they’ve never met. That’s why we’re fundraising—to help make those moments possible for families facing medical crises.

You may scroll past this post and feel no connection to this fundraiser.

You may have never stayed at a Ronald McDonald House. You may not know a family who has. You may not understand why we spend so much time raising money for something that feels far removed from your own life.

The truth is, none of us know what tomorrow holds.

A medical emergency, an accident, a diagnosis, a premature birth—these are things that happen to other people until suddenly they happen to us.

Take a moment and imagine being hours from home while your child is hospitalized. Imagine the stress, the uncertainty, the fear. Now imagine being told that you have a safe place to stay close to your child, surrounded by people who understand exactly what you’re going through, without having to worry about the cost.

That’s what the Ronald McDonald House provides.

Most families never expect they’ll need this kind of support. I certainly didn’t.

Today, we’re raising funds so that if another family finds themselves facing the unimaginable, one less burden stands in their way.

Because none of us can predict the future—but together, we can make sure help is there when it’s needed most.

❤️ Every donation makes a difference regardless of size.

Why I Support Ronald McDonald House

People often ask why I care so deeply about supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The answer is simple:

I’ve been that mom.

My daughter, Laila, was born with a rare chromosomal disorder and spent her entire life facing complex medical challenges. Over her 3½ years, she underwent countless procedures and surgeries, survived a stroke, battled seizures, relied on a trach and feeding tube, and spent more time in hospitals than any child ever should.

During those years, Ronald McDonald House became more than just a place to stay.

There were times when it was just me. There were times when it was just my mom. We spent days, weeks, and sometimes longer focused on one thing: getting through the next appointment, surgery, hospitalization, or crisis.

When your child is critically ill, you don’t think about where you’ll sleep, how much a hotel costs, where you’ll shower, or how you’ll afford meals. But those things matter, and they add up quickly.

Ronald McDonald House gave us a safe place to rest, eat, shower, and simply exist while staying close to Laila. It allowed us to be where we needed to be most: by her side.

In some of the hardest moments of our lives, they provided comfort, stability, and support when everything else felt uncertain.

I don’t support Ronald McDonald House because I’ve heard about the good work they do.

I support them because I lived it.

I know what it’s like to walk through those doors exhausted after a long day at the hospital. I know what it’s like to sit beside your child and wonder what tomorrow will bring. I know how much it means to have one less thing to worry about when your world revolves around keeping your child alive.

Every dollar raised helps families facing situations they never imagined they’d be in. It helps keep parents close to their children during some of the most difficult days of their lives.

I’ve been that mom.

And that’s why this mission means so much to me.

✨ 36% in One Week! ✨

We are absolutely blown away by the support we’ve received during the first week of our fundraiser!

Because of your generosity, we’re already at 36% of our goal. 💖

And to top it off, we woke up this morning to find another $100 donation that came in late last night! Every donation, share, comment, and word of encouragement helps us move closer to making a difference for families staying at Ronald McDonald House.

Thank you for believing in this mission and helping us honor Laila’s 16th birthday in such a meaningful way. Seeing our community come together like this means more than we can put into words.

We’re only one week in, and look how far we’ve come already. Let’s keep the momentum going! ❤️🩷
