Cars Racin' For A Dream has been a slogan that Kim Scheffler has used for years when signing autographs for fans. When asked "What is the dream?" Kim would reply "To use my racing to help others." Kim joined with fellow racer Rick Bristol's vision of using the racing industry to help others in 2005 by racing in Rick's Inaugural Charity 200 Truck Race. Kim became a board member of the organization
in 2011. Together with the communities support C.A.R.S. numerous children and their families by raising thousands of dollars. Kim wanted to carry on the vision that they shared to help serious and terminally ill children and families. So what better way to do that then to start CARS Racin' For A Dream Inc. Kim's background in racing goes back to early childhood in her hometown of Benton Harbor, Michigan. Her family consisted of race track owners, race announcer, ticket taker, drivers, engine builders, basically if it had to do with horse power the Scheffler's were involved. In 1996 Kim strapped in for her first race and has not looked back since. Racing hasn't always been easy though. She didn't let the fact that the prominently male sport stop her from living her dream. Kim would go on to be named the Driver of the Year by the Lakeland Ledger, winning numerous championships and being named Rookie of the Year but her top achievements would be winning the North American Racing Insurance Humanitarian Award and the Eckerd 100 Salute to Woman Award. Kim's many years in the racing industry has also given her the opportunity to meet and network with thousands of people. These engagements have come from being a guest speaker at colleges to having lunch with a special child at their school. Her networking in the past and her community involvement have proved to be the very foundation of her dream..... helping others in the community. CARS Racin' For A Dream became a reality over 5 years ago.. We have our 501C3 non profit status (EIN #47-4849678). We are a local non for profit charity helping local kids using local business. Thank you to everyone that supports our dream of helping these children smile again. God bless you all and please continue to pray for all our CARS kids.
