Soroptimist Int’l of Auburn’s Bingo fundraiser was a big success! What a great night playing for prizes and a big selection of gifts. Thank you to all our supporters who attended and made the event so fun!

Soroptimist Int'l of Auburn awarded $17,000 to help 16 local women and girls stay enrolled in school, complete career training, and move closer to economic independence. The awards were distributed through the club’s Live Your Dream program, as well as High School, Vocational, Sierra College, and Perseverance grants.

Pictured are 11 of the incredible 16 recipients, each is most deserving and Living Their Dream! We are proud to be part of their journey.

In honor of Mother’s Day, we were lucky enough to have author, Barbara Young give an inspirational and thought provoking program to our Soroptimist club.
Barbara Young is an award winning author of empowering works for children and adults. Following her 40-year career in nursing she wrote and published her first book, The Heart that Rocks Health Care, which moved her from stress to new success as an author. Her “Adventures with Dementia” series of books, feature eight year-old Emmy, as a peer of and role model for children and families whose lives have been touched by dementia. Barbara’s latest written works make up her Learning to Be Me collection of books for 4-8 year-olds which include the titles: Ways to Be, The Dream Inside of Me, and The Wildflower’s Secret. Young is likely most well-known for the treasury of timeless inspirations dedicated to her mom in the book, Mother’s Pearls.
