"This research is filling a pretty critical gap—we don't know enough about how senior centers are identifying these issues, responding to them, or what support they need. Your network's frontline perspective would be incredibly valuable."

The survey for senior center administrators is quick (about 10 minutes), completely anonymous, and participants have a chance to win a $50 gift card. The National Council on Aging has endorsed the project and is helping distribute the survey as well. We also published an article with the NCOA on this exact topic that might be helpful context: https://www.ncoa.org/article/how-senior-centers-can-help-address-elder-abuse-and-self-neglect/

Survey link: https://redcap.link/seniorcentersurvey

Would you be open to distributing the survey to your network of senior centers and encouraging members to complete it?

More than 130,000 Volunteers making positive changes in our country!

Every May since 1963, our nation has celebrated Older Americans Month—a time to honor the generations who built our communities and continue strengthening them every day.

At AmeriCorps, we’re proud to recognize the older adults whose service bridges generations, supports neighbors, and ensures no one is left behind.

Last year, more than 130,000 older Americans served as AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteers, contributing over 29 million hours of reading with children, supporting older adults, strengthening nonprofits, and reducing poverty across the country.

Their wisdom, dedication, and compassion make our communities stronger. This month, and every month, we celebrate them.
