Where I grew up:
I grew up in the Bay Area of CA, attended Bible College in Dallas where I met Barney. We were missionaries at an orphanage in Brazil before returning to his hometown of Atwood after the birth of our first son.
Why I am on the CORE Advisory Board:
I serve on the CORE Communities Advisory Board because I first attended a graduation program and was deeply moved by the heartfelt testimonies of students whose lives had been transformed through the principles they learned in class.
Serving on this board is more than a responsibility—it feels like a calling. Behind every statistic is a story of resilience, hope, and the desire for a better life.
CORE plays a vital role in bridging gaps and creating real solutions. By bringing together local leaders, service providers, volunteers, and people with lived experience, CORE designs strategies that meet practical needs. It reminds us that poverty is not solved by charity alone, but by dignity, opportunity, and systems that work for everyone.
I am honored to contribute to this vision, especially through the CORE Boutique, which provides clothing for both adults and children.
