Meet Tango & Cash, two male cockatiels who are less action-movie tough guys and more Bosom Buddies.

If you know, you know.

We’re not saying they have an apartment under assumed identities, but we haven’t checked their paperwork that closely.

These boys come as a pair. Their friendship predates your application, and neither is accepting suggestions about separate living arrangements.

You’re adopting two birds and joining an established social circle. Please allow time for them to discuss you privately.

The names suggest high-speed pursuits and organized crime. The actual operation involves feathers, perches, and having your buddy nearby while you conduct bird business.

They need a home that welcomes both of them, gives them time to settle in, and lets each boy build trust at his own pace. Being buddies doesn’t mean they’re interchangeable. You’ll have two individuals to get to know.

If you’ve been looking for a feathered duo with an existing friendship and names that wildly overstate their law-enforcement credentials, meet Tango & Cash.

Available for adoption together through Totally Flocked Avian Rescue in Molino, Florida. Adopters must be 18 or older and within approximately 350 miles of Pensacola. We do not ship birds.

Apply at TotallyFlockedAvianRescue.com.

Two bachelors. One application. You supply the housing.

Birdie has a safe place to land with us. Now we need your help caring for him and Piglet.

We’re still learning what Birdie needs, so we don’t have an estimate for his care yet. Piglet, our galah, is scheduled for surgery next week. A large tumor is restricting movement in her leg. Her vet will remove it and send it for testing. That procedure alone will cost $852.

A couple of kind people have already donated, and we’re grateful. We still need help covering Piglet’s surgery and the care Birdie may need in the weeks ahead.

If you can give $5, it helps. You can donate directly to Totally Flocked Avian Rescue, or you can make a payment through our vet’s office toward Piglet’s care. Please message us if you’d like to give through the vet, and we’ll share the details.

If you can’t donate right now, sharing this post helps Birdie and Piglet reach someone who can. Thank you for being here for them. ❤️

A few years ago, a family reached out for help. They had nine female cats that were pregnant and they asked if our rescue could help. I said, "Yes! I will give you 𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙀 𝙁𝙍𝙀𝙀 𝙎𝙋𝘼𝙔𝙎!" And they said, "Oh no, we could 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 spay a pregnant cat. That would be awful. We won't do that to the kittens. We will figure something out."

Eight weeks later they reached out, frantic. 😱 They said, "We have 42 kittens and they all need homes immediately. We are handing the kittens out, but there are just so many of them! We are overwhelmed. We cannot afford to feed them all. Some are sick and need antibiotics... We plan to put them all outdoors if you cannot help." 😭

It is SO HARD as a rescuer not to get frustrated and resentful. 𝘞𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘶𝘱𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨. We understand that people feel guilty about it - But if you do not plan to take full responsibility for the kittens and you plan to dump those problems on someone else, you should not be allowing kittens to happen. Full responsibility is spaying/neutering all cats/kittens prior to rehoming. Not calling shelters and rescues and begging them to make room in the middle of kitten season. Not handing out more unfixed kittens in a community without any resources.

Every single one of those kittens... took away a home from another cat that already existed in our community - It cost our organization $4700 to spay/neuter all of those kittens and an additional $900 to fix the Moms ($5600 total and that did not even cover the expenses for the sick kittens 😢)... It used all our kennels, all of our funding, all our manpower... For a month, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 hit by cars and cats dumped in the woods and cats losing their housing, because someone got to say, "No. I do not agree with spaying a pregnant cat." 😭

Please help the rescues get ahead in 2026. Help your community get ahead. Spay/abort is a controversial topic... But a necessary topic. We are in an overpopulation crisis. We all have to do our part.

*I found this on my phone from March and have no idea where it originated, but it's so important so I wanted to share.
