🌱 Feel Good Friday 🌱

C.R.O.P.S. aims to be zero waste in the food pathway we facilitate in South Jersey as we connect farmers to our Atlantic City community - we love fresh produce!!

After a recent pop-up market, our Team stopped by Oceanside I Family Success Center with surplus produce that could be stored in the refrigerator there that’s part of our Refrigeration Program - before the produce is connected to Oceanside I’s programming participants.

Thank you to Oceanside I for your partnership - we appreciate you! ♥️

🌱 Recently, our board member and amazing mentor, Chi Hitchins, came to present to UCAN Farmer Participants Cohort 1, about "Running Your Farm Like a Business"!

She gave us some good tips on setting up our systems for success so we can all find time for rest, relaxation, and self care.

The Farmers were able to identify some goals about setting up a marketing schedule and keeping consistent with data and reviewing that data to be the most successful business they can be. Thank you so much, Chi! ♥️ . .
C.R.O.P.S.’s UCAN (Urban Coastal Agriculture Network) Farming Program is a farmer training program and is one of the six components of our Funding Agreements with the CRDA. Through a series of education sessions, hands-on farming activities and farm field trips with the C.R.O.P.S. Team, farmer participants in our program learn farming skills as well as business skills like bookkeeping and marketing to set them up for success as they build their own urban farming business as part of strengthening Atlantic City as a Farm to Fork City. . .

The Atlantic City Fresh Food Map has been updated for 2026 and includes locations where our community can locate fresh food in or in a food pathway to Atlantic City! 🙌

On the map, you can find Farmers Markets, Food Pantries or Distribution Locations, Gardens, Soup Kitchens, Food-related Programs, Food Stores, and Farms. 🌱🥕🥬🥣🛍

This project is in its second year and we would like to thank our community partners for their collaboration as the C.R.O.P.S. Team made phone calls and visits to partner locations to check in about addresses, days & hours of operation, and contact information so that the Map’s many locations are up to date & create a useful tool for anyone to use as a means of accessing fresh food.

What do you think of it? Have you used it yet?

Please share this with anyone that you think may find it helpful!
