We aim to normalize the conversation, peel back the layers of shame, eliminate the stigma, and support mental well-being. Silence the Shame is a nonprofit organization that focuses on education and awareness around mental health. Our programs and initiatives consist of Crisis Response Trainings, Community Conversations, Wellness Trainings, digital content, and outreach events. We aim to normalize

the conversation, peel back the layers of shame, eliminate stigma, and provide support for mental well-being. Established as The Hip-Hop Professional Foundation, the organization gained momentum quickly when Silence the Shame was launched as an anti-stigma mental health awareness campaign. STS Founder Shanti Das partnered with influencers and celebrities through social media to bring awareness to mental health and the impact of stigma. With this momentum, the organization moved to change the Hip-Hop Professional Foundation's name to Silence the Shame, Inc.

The Spelman Dance Student Association (SDSA) and National Association of Black Physical Therapists (NABPT) held an event designed to provide students with guided movement, relaxation strategies, and practical tools to support both physical and mental well-being. The event was planned by our cohort member Haley Coleman and we had our STSU Ambassador Gabrielle Peters speak about STS, the CLIMB UP program and her experience being an Ambassador.
